Launches USB Safely Remove 3.2 and Begins iPod Raffle
Safelyremove.com
today announces the immediate availability of USB
Safely Remove 3.2
and a special action – a raffle for its customers to win a new
Apple iPod. The raffle starts November 14, 2007 and ends December 14,
2007. The winner will be determined by random drawing and will be
announced December 15, 2007 at Safelyremove.com.
USB
Safely Remove 3.2
enhances the native Safely Remove function in Windows and enables you
to remove and unplug any USB removable device in one mouse click or a
hotkey press. It can give correct names to the devices, lets you
rename them and find out what application or process is locking the
USB device, preventing it from safe removal.
One
of the problems with the native Safely Remove function is that in
case you have several USB devices, it’s easy for you to unplug
the wrong one by mistake. It happens because many of them have the
same name – “USB Mass Storage Device.” Another
common problem is that the standard icon doesn’t allow you to
remove unnecessary devices from the menu, such as a built-in card
reader or a system SATA drive. If any of these devices is removed by
mistake, it often brings about problems. For example, a removed card
reader requires rebooting the system to be used again. Sometimes
Windows doesn’t allow you to remove a device but doesn’t
tell you the reason why you can’t do it. In that case, you have
to close all programs that may be using the device or reboot the
system. All these hassles go away when you install USB Safely Remove.
Unlike
the native Windows option, USB
Safely Remove shows all USB devices, currently plugged into the
computer and lets you remove any of them. To do so, you only need to
move the mouse to the tray where the program is sitting as an icon,
select the device from the popup menu and safely remove it. What’s
more, the program gives correct names to the devices on its menu,
rather than “USB Mass Storage Device” names that can make
you unplug a wrong device by mistake. Using the program, you can find
out what application or process is locking the device and preventing
you from unmounting it, and kill the process.
The
software is primarily
aimed at those users who have more than one USB device.
